Washington Post offers fellowships for Latin American and Caribbean journalists

The Washington Post and the Woodrow Wilson Center for Scholars in Washington, D.C., invite journalists from Latin America and the Caribbean to apply for a fellowship that will allow them to spend three weeks in Washington reporting on issues of importance to their home countries. Five journalists from the region will be accepted, and applications must be received by May 28, 2010.

The fellowship lasts from Sept. 13 to Oct. 1, 2010 and includes travel and lodging costs and a weekly stipend for living expenses. Fellows will have a desk at the Washington Post and access to the paper’s reporters, editors and research staff.

Past fellowship winners come from Brazil, Colombia, Jamaica, Mexico, and Venezuela. More information and applications in English, Spanish and Portuguese can be found here.
