Winners announced for prestigious Harvard Nieman Fellowships and John S. Knight Fellowships at Stanford

Winners have been announced for two of the most prestigious fellowships for journalists: the 75th class of Nieman Fellows at Harvard and the John S. Knight Journalism Fellows at Stanford University.

The Nieman Fellowships, including two fellowships awarded in collaboration with the Berkman Center for Internet & Society, were awarded to 24 journalists from the United States and abroad. Among the winners are journalists from the Boston Globe, Washington Post, NPR, Chicago Tribune, Associated Press, and Newsweek.

One international fellow comes from Latin America. Paula Molina is an anchor and editor at Radio Cooperativa, Chile's leading news radio station. Other international fellows include Borja Echevarría de la Gándara, the deputy managing editor of Spain's El País and recent panelist at the 13th International Symposium on Online Journalism, who is one of the two inaugural Nieman-Berkman Fellows in Journalism Innovation.

At Stanford, 13 U.S. journalists and eight international journalists have been named Knight Fellows for 2012-2013. The U.S. fellows come from media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal Americas, the Voice of San Diego, Al Jazeera English, National Geographic Magazine, and the Dallas Morning News.

Among the Knight International Fellows are two journalists from Latin America. Maria Lilly Delgado is a freelance correspondent for Univision TV in Nicaragua, and Adriana Garcia Martinez, business editor for the Thomson Reuters wire service Sao Paulo, Brazil, is the Knight Foundation Latin American Fellow.

Other international fellows come from France, China, Nigeria, Lebanon, Hungary, and Portugal.
